Croatia tourist information

Croatia, it is a country with a rich history and culture, located at a strategic crossroads between Central Europe and the Mediterranean. The Croats have a long and varied history, dating back to the early part of the 7th century AD. Throughout its history, Croatia has been influenced by a number of different powers, including the Ottoman Empire and the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

As a member of the European Union and the United Nations, Croatia plays an active role in international affairs, including participating in UN peacekeeping missions and serving on the UN Security Council. The country has also made significant investments in infrastructure and provides universal healthcare and free primary and secondary education.

Today, Croatia is a republic governed under a parliamentary system, with a strong service sector, a developing industrial sector, and a significant agricultural sector. Tourism is also an important contributor to the Croatian economy, with the country’s Adriatic Sea coast and islands attracting many visitors each year.

Its capital city is Zagreb, which forms one of the country’s primary subdivisions, along with its twenty counties. Croatia covers 56,594 square kilometers (21,851 square miles) and has diverse, mostly continental and Mediterranean climates. Croatia’s Adriatic Sea coast contains more than a thousand islands. The country’s population is 4.28 million, most of whom are Croats, with the most common religious denomination being Roman Catholicism.

Generally, Croatia is a safe place for travelers. And a really wonderful place to visit!  Statistically, Croatia is one of the safest countries in the world. The stats don’t lie: Croatia is the 19th-safest country in the world!
